On November 11, 2021, the results of the 16th Top Ten academic experts for graduate students of China University of Petroleum (East China) were announced. Yichun Niu and Dongyue Wang, doctoral students in our college, were awarded the title of Top Ten academic experts.
Top Ten academic experts is one of the highest academic honors for graduate students of China University of Petroleum (East China), and has a great influence among graduate students. Experts and professors from relevant disciplines of the school served as judges for this selection. The method of combining personal defenses and questions from the judges was adopted, and the candidates' academic papers, invention patents, scientific research projects, awards, and academic exchanges were comprehensively considered, and finally 10 Top Ten academic experts were selected. This selection activity played a good role model for graduate students, helped to create a good academic atmosphere, and promoted the further improvement of graduate students' academic level.
Yichun Niu, a doctoral student, is studying under the tutelage of Professors Donghua Zhou and Li Sheng. During the doctoral degree period, he carried out research on active fault-tolerant control method for dynamic point-the-bit rotary steerable drilling tool systems based on the key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the research results have effectively improved the drilling accuracy and reliability of rotary steerable drilling tool systems. So far, he has published twelve SCI papers (including three papers in the first ranking journal and seven papers in the second ranking journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) on IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics and other international authoritative journals. Moreover, he has published one EI paper and three EI conference papers and authorized six national invention patents. He has won Best Poster Paper Award in the 11th CAA Symposium on Fault Detection, Supervision and Safety for Technical Processes 2019.
Dongyue Wang, a doctoral student, under the tutelage of Professor Dongzhi Zhang, is mainly engaged in the research of micro-nano sensor technology and intelligent detection, micro-system and self-powered sensor technology. He has published more than ten SCI papers on ACS Nano, Nano Energy, Nano-Micro Letters and other international authoritative journals, including 4 journal papers with an impact factor of 15 or more, a single paper with a maximum impact factor of 22.315, and 2 highly cited papers by ESI. He has applied for 8 national invention patents and won many honors including the National Silver Award in the 6th China International Internet + University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
